Halloween Pics

In my frantic rush to get ready to go to Germany TOMORROW, I don't have much time. But, I am going to post some pictures of Abby's Halloween. Since we will be on a plane on the actual day of Halloween Abby had to do her dressing up and trick or treating this past weekend. We went to downtown Crestview for the fall festival and met up with Sam and Nolan. The kids had fun seeing each other's costumes, running around, and trick or treating! Sorry about the short post, I have so much to do!!!

Abby did not want to cooperate to get her picture taken. She has developed quite a dislike for the camera, much to my disappointment!

All this trick or treating can really tire a girl, I mean Octopus out!!

Letting Loose

Last Saturday night Andrew and I had the pleasure of having the evening to ourselves. Sam graciously offered to watch Abigail overnight so Andrew and I could go out, just the 2 of us for the first time since he got home from his deployment. We headed out to Baytowne Wharf in Destin for dinner. This was the beautiful view from the Mid-bay bridge while driving down to Destin:

Andrew and I enjoyed dinner at Hammerheads while sitting outside next to the water, listening to live music, and watching the Red Sox game. After dinner we met up with some people from Andrews work and "let loose" so to say! A few of Andrew's friends from the academy who now live in the area also met up with us and we talked, laughed and had a good time. It was nice to have a night away with my hubby. It doesn't happen often but we always have a good time when we get the chance! Thanks again to Sam for watching Abby, you are the best!

A trip to the pumpkin patch

Ok, I'm going to start off with a comparison photo. This one is from the pumpkin patch last year....

...And, all the rest are from this year! I can't believe how much my little girl has grown and changed over the year, its just amazing to me. Anyhoo...we headed down to the pumpkin patch on Saturday afternoon. I thought Abby would love it, but she wasn't really all that impressed. It was hard to get any good pictures of her this year since she wouldn't sit still and she has a habit of not looking at the camera anymore. But, we had fun anyway and we accomplished what we set out to do, get pumpkins. Hopefully she will enjoy the carving part more than the picking part! We'll see!

Abby and Daddy going to find the perfect Vrabec pumpkin

Abby liked the scarecrows better than the pumpkins

"How about this one?"

I can't lose!!

As many of you know the Red Sox will be playing the Rockies in the world series. This is a win, win situation for me. I would love to see either team win, it will be an interesting series to say the least!!!

Its Raining, Its Pouring!!

As many of you have seen on the news, the weather in the panhandle the last couple of days has been quite exciting, for lack of a better word. We woke up yesterday to pouring rain and it just got yuckier from there. We were supposed go to MOPS yesterday morning but with Abby being sick and the weather we just didn't make it out the door. That was probably a good thing because a little before noon we were under a tornado warning and Abby and I spent some quality time together in the closet. She thought it was a blast. I brought her potty chair in, the computer (so she could watch a movie), some snacks and drinks and we had a good ol time! I was determined to come up with some new activities to do inside because I didn't want to let her watch t.v. all day, and this is what we came up with:

Before the weather turned really bad, Abby put on her rain coat to brave the weather. Unfortunately, it was lightening at this point and we decided to skip splashing in the puddles and just enjoyed watching the rain for a bit from the comfort of the garage.

When we came back inside I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to do some potty training. I got out Abby's big girl underwear and she wore them around proudly. I am happy to report she had no accidents in the underwear yesterday and she did a lot of peeing and pooping on the potty!

After the tornado warning had expired, we decided it would be fun to bake some cookies! (Sorry, I have no pictures from when we were in the closet, I just grabbed the essentials listed above, and the camera was not one of them. Safety first!!) Abby loved helping me bake and she even wore an apron so she wouldn't get dirty, but somehow she managed to get dirty anyhow. Oh well, that was half the fun!
And now, time for a little brown sugar!!

In it goes!

"Oops, I spilled the chocolate chips. I guess I better eat them, no sense in letting them go to waste!"

Mmm...the best part, licking the spoon!

A visit from Calla

This past weekend my very good friend from college, Calla, came to visit. Abby took to Calla right away and they were buds all weekend! The weekend wasn't a whirlwind of activity, we relaxed and chatted quite a bit. But, we were able to sneak in a little shopping, eating lunch with the gators, a boat ride, and we even managed to go out to dinner and have a few drinks one night without Abby! It was a great weekend and we had lots of fun! Thanks for coming to visit, and remember you are welcome anytime!!!

Myself and Calla at Fudpuckers for lunch
Our friend Sam who was stationed with us at Hanscom happened to be in town for a wedding the same weekend, so he met us for lunch at Fudpuckers one afternoon!

Andrew and Sam ordered Gator tail as an appetizer, and wouldn't you know it... Abby LOVED it. She ate it and kept asking for more!!

Don't worry, its not a real gator

Here are the live alligators!

Enjoying the Florida sunshine out on the boat!

We are so money

At least last Saturday night we THOUGHT we were money. No visit from Annis would be complete without a little poker night. After the kiddos went to bed, we decided to act like kids ourselves and just be goofy and let loose. We had a lot of fun. I didn't do so good at poker but Andrew did pretty well, so all was not lost!

I am such a lucky girl!!

Abby even got in on the action, the next day of course!!

New Layout

I was reading some other blogs when I came across one that mentioned free layouts. Sam and I have been talking about custom layout for the blogs and there is a way to design and pay for your own personal layout. Sam is working hard to come up with something for her blog. I, on the other hand, was sick of the same old, same old on my blog, but I am not nearly as motivated as Sam and I took the lazy route. The pre-made layout! It works for now, itts something different. There is a poll to the left, let me know what you think!

Boating in October?!?!

Last weekend, while Jason was in town we decided to rent a boat for a few hours. Unfortunately there was a high wind advisory so we weren't able to go out to Crab Island but we were able to cruise around in the bay and the the boys even took a dip in the water. Abby didn't really like the boat at first but she got used to it near the end. I guess next summer we will have to boat more often so Abby can get used to it!!

Abby was closing her eyes when we were going fast. I think she may have even fallen asleep!

Oktoberfest

The local Oktoberfest festival was in town last weekend so we decided to hit it up with Sam and Nolan last Friday. We were excited for a little taste of Germany, maybe a Brat and a beer, something along those lines. Well, no such luck. I have no idea why they called the fair Oktoberfest there wasn't a hint of anything German to be found. Andrew was a bit disappointed he couldn't have a Brat for dinner but all was not lost. The kiddos had a blast on some of the carnival rides. The first ride we took them on Sam and I were able to go on with them. I guess they had fun and it made them brave so they rode the rest of the rides by themselves. They are growing up so fast!!!
