Like my hairdo?

I am sure Abby will have my head for this someday....but these were too cute not to share!

Moms Night Out

This past Saturday night I had the chance to go to Moms Night Out with one of the play groups that Abby and I belong to. For those of you without kids, our playgroup is what keeps me sane. About once a week during the day Abby and I get together with a group of other moms and kids and we do different activities. It gives Abby a chance to socialize with other kids and it gets me out of the house and gives me some adult interaction. I can truly say I would be lost without it. It is a wonderful group of women and children and I feel so lucky to have met them. Once a month we also do a moms night out where just the moms get together for real adult time without the kids. It is a way for us to relax, chat, and re-energize and it makes us able to be better mothers and wives! On Saturday we went out for dinner at TGI Fridays and had a blast. Here is a picture of us at dinner, these are just a few of the wonderful women that are part of the group It was nice to have some girl time and relax! Thank you to all that make it possible!! (That includes the dads that stay home with the kiddos for a little one on one Daddy time)!

Abby Lou Who

Abigails hair has been quite out of control lately. I don't want to get it cut because I want it to grow out, but a lot of times I call her shaggy dog because her bangs are always in her eyes. I have tried pulling her hair back with barrets, and sometimes that works. Other times she pulls the barrets out and says "ut oh" and hands it back to me and I put it back in her hair only to have her do it again. I guess she thinks its a really fun game. Anyway, the other day I had a light bulb moment and thought hey...I can use rubber bands to pull her hair back and lo and behold, Abby Lou Who was born!

Beat It!

Abby is such a ham sometimes. The other day we were playing outside and it was pretty chilly so she was wearing her mittens. When we came inside she decided she wanted to watch her video and do a little dancing with her baby. Apparently she liked wearing her mittens because she insisted that we put them back on her when we came inside. I dont know why, but she only wanted to wear one. She looked like Michael Jackson during his one glove phase. It was really funny! Here are a few pictures of our little Abby Jackson:

Yard Clean up

This past weekend we finally did a little yard clean up. For those of you who have been to our house you know how big our backyard is and that we have a ton of trees. Its great in the summer, it provides a lot of shade. But, it makes for quite the mess in the winter. We were outside raking for 3 hours on Sat. and still didnt get everything done. Abby loved it though. She loved being outside and she was such a good little helper!

Winter in Florida

So I can't complain too much about where the Air Force has taken us to live. True, there is no shopping in Crestview other than WalMart, and the best restaurant in the immediate vicinity is Applebee's, and its hot and humid in the summer....but the weather in the winter is to die for. Sure, it can get cold here (its gotten down into the teens at night this winter). But for the most part, the days are gorgeous. Where else can I take an energetic toddler out for some fresh air in the middle of January in a light jacket with the sun shining? I have to remember to be thankful for the little things and after seeing these pictures its the weather I am thankful for today!

A smile is worth a thousand words

Movie Date

Our friends Brian and Sam came over for dinner last week and the kids thought this would be a great opportunity to have a movie date. While we put the finishing touches on dinner, Abigail and her boyfriend Nolan sat and watched an Elmo movie. It was so cute to see the 2 of them sitting right next to each other watching t.v. together, all they needed was a little popcorn to make the night complete. Abby even stole a peek of her handsome buddy during the movie! And dont worry Bucky is in the background to make sure there is no funny business!!

Dip, dip

Abby has found the great joy of maple syrup. When she has a waffle for breakfast she stands in the kitchen, near the toaster and says "dip, dip" till the waffle is ready. She then sits in her chair and dips her waffle into the syrup and eats her breakfast. Believe it or not she is usually pretty clean when she is done. I say usually because as you can see in the picture below, that is not always the case. This particular morning she dip, dipped her hand in the syrup and the put it directly into her hair. It was so funny, (even though it called for an unusual morning bath afterward). She looked like Mary from the movie Theres something about Mary.....too cute!!!

Here are a few more shots of her getting VERY messy during meal time!

Abby's New Friend

We got a box in the mail from my good friend Josie with Christmas gifts. Getting Christmas gifts late is always so much fun. Its like just when you thought it was over, bam....more gifts. She outdid herself again (like always) and spoiled us. Abby instantly became attached to the cabbage patch baby she sent. She carries it around everywhere. It is so cute. She acts like a little mommy to the doll. She pats the baby's back, it sits with her while she eats, she dances with it while she watches her video....she just loves that baby. Here are a few shots of her with the baby in tow.

Abigails Kitchen

Abby got some wonderful presents for Christmas, thank you to everyone!! She got a kitchen from her Papi and Grandma Reeves in Colorado. She is so cute when she plays with it and she absolutely loves it. I thought I would share a couple of pictures of her playing with her new kitchen! Hopefully she will learn to be a better cook than Mommy since she is starting out at such a young age, and she has her Daddy to learn from!!!

Birthday Weekend

Andrew and I had a wonderful weekend. Our friends Sam and Brian watched Abby overnight so we could have a night out. We went over to Pensacola and had dinner at the Melting Pot (which is fondue for those that dont know). It was wonderful, we ate and talked, and took our time and enjoyed eachothers company. After dinner we went to McGuires (a local bar/restaurant) and had a few drinks. We stayed the night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel which was in walking distance to the Melting Pot and McGuires. It was perfect, and we had a wonderful time. We missed Abby a lot but it was really nice for us to reconnect as a couple for a night. Sam and Brian said Abby did just fine. I am so thankful that we have such wonderful friends that would do that for us. I just hope they let us repay the favor soon!! Unfortunately, I dont have any pictures from that night. I am new to this blogging thing and didnt think about it till after the fact. I will get better at this....I promise!!

Jasons Visit

Our friend Jason came to visit over the long holiday weekend. We had a blast! The weather was gorgeous so we went to play disc golf on Saturday afternoon. Andrew and Jason are old pros but this was Abigails firtst time and I think she really enjoyed it!

On our way home, we stopped at a sports bar Andrew had heard about called New York Nicks. The food was pretty good and we had a good time.

Here is a pic of the family but Abby decided to hide behind her high chair at the last minute...

And here is Abby playing Golden Tee with Uncle Jason

Trying out this blogging thing!

After months of reading my friend Sams blog, I have finally decided to join in the fun and start my own. I am starting one so that our families and friends can keep track of what is happening in our life here in Florida! I hope you enjoy!
