Strawberry Picking

Today we had an outing with our MOPS group to go strawberry picking. It was a lot of fun and Abby had a blast picking out the best strawberries she could find. She even took a bite of a couple of the berries, just for quality assurance! After we picked our pint of strawberries, we sat down and enjoyed a nice cup of strawberry frozen yogurt...YUMMY!! After strawberry picking we headed to downtown Crestview with Sam and Nolan and Nadia and Tristan and had lunch at Taco Town. Then, we did a little shopping. The weather was perfect and it was a very fun day! We can't wait to go back with Daddy and hopefully get some better pictures!!

PB&J

I will let the pictures speak for themselves!!

Whats that green stuff?

We went out to dinner tonight at a local steak place called Coach and Four. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired but the food is decent. It was pretty funny though, as we were waiting for our food the waitress came by with a tray full of food. Andrew said "that must be ours" but then she walked right past us and began serving another table. Then he said, "Oh, Im glad that isn't ours because what is the scoop of green stuff they ordered?" Well, turns out our order was on the tray as well and sure enough the waitress put down two plates with steak, a baked potato, and a big 'ol scoop of green stuff =) Turns out the green stuff was lime sorbet which Abby just loved. We ordered Abby a corn dog and she ate a few bites but the little stinker quickly realized that mommy's steak was much tastier!! Watch out Nolan, this one has expensive taste =)

Here is Abby tasting the "green stuff"

Playhouse

Grandma and Grandpa Vrabec sent Abby a wonderful present in the mail....a new playhouse! She just LOVES it. Abby even had fun "helping" Daddy put it together. Now we have to leave a baby screwdriver in the playhouse so Abby can do some home improvements! Next thing we know she'll be asking for a ride up to Lowes = )

Just the facts

Abby had her 18 month check up today and this is what we found out:
Height: 32 3/4 Inches, 75%
Weight: 23 lbs, 23%
Head: 48 1/2 cm, 75%

So, to summarize things Abby is tall and skinny and has a large head! =)
The doctor said everything else looked fine and we would see him again in 6 months....when she is 2!

1st trip to the beach in 2007

The weather has been gorgeous lately so Andrew and I decided to take advantage of it and head down to the beach. It took Abby a little while to warm up to the idea of playing in the sand again, but after a while she was having a blast! The water is still too cold to actually go swimming although you wouldn't have known that by looking at all the crazy spring breakers out in the water! It's ok though because Abby was still intimidated by the water, I am hoping she will get used to it again soon. We also saw about 15 dolphins out just past the breakers, it was really neat! After the beach we headed to Johnny O'Quigley's for lunch, which is an Irish pub right up the street....it was a wonderful day!!

Fashion Faux Paux...

...you be the judge. I never realized that a tank top, pj pants, and rain boots could look so cute together. I did not take her out of the house like this, although she would have fit in really well here in Crestview =) Just thought I would share!

Chuck E. Cheese!!!!

While we were in Colorado we went to Chuck E. Cheese one night. My dad and Jane and Duke and his girlfriend Ashley and Ana all came with us. Abby thought the cars would be fun to play on until I put in the coin. As soon as the car started to move she shook her head and said "no, no. Down, down." It was pretty funny =) She did like to play skee ball though and she loved to watch the show while she was eating her pizza. Overall, we had a really good time and I am excited to be able to take her back when she is a little older!

1st Haircut

Like I said before, Abby had her 1st haircut while we were in Colorado. It was nice because they have salons that specifically cater toward kids. Abby sat in a little car and each station had a tv where the kids could either watch a movie or play video games. The salon even gives you a little card with a lock of hair and a polaroid picture of the finished product! Abby watched the Wiggles and the only time she thought about crying was when the lady that was cutting her hair stood in front of the tv, stinker!! Anyway, the haircut turned out soooo cute, her hair doesnt look too much different but her bangs aren't in her eyes anymore and it looks more styled than crazy. I can't call her my shaggy dog anymore!! I of course cried, but it was totally worth it and now I think I should have done it months ago!!

Before the haircut....notice the little car she is sitting in!

The first snip:

Mid-haircut

The end result.....so cute!!!

The curls really came out in the back!! (notice the Wiggles on the tv in the background?)

Last Minute Trip....

So, Abby and I went to Colorado this past week while Andrew was in DC for work. Only my Dad knew we were coming (he did pay for the ticket) so we were able to surprise everyone else. We had a wonderful time in Colorado and it really helped to pass the time while Andrew was away! Abby was spoiled rotten by her Papi, Grandma Jane, Grandma Nancy, and her aunts and uncles. She told me she just LOVES going to Colorado =)
Here are some pictures of our trip, we were very busy. We went to the park, swimming, to the zoo, and Abby even had her first haircut while we were there! I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but I will say we had a wonderful time!!!

Here is one of our trips to the park. It's nice because there are a few different parks by my dads house and they are all within walking distance of the house. Very different from here in Crestview where you have to drive to the park!!

"But wait, I don't want to go home yet!"

We made a trip to the Denver zoo and let me just tell you...it was awesome. We were there for about 4 hours and well into Abby's usual nap time and she was an angel. She loved being outside and seeing all the animals. There was a baby gorilla who was putting on show for us. He was playing peek-a-boo and "monkeying" around, he was too cute! After the zoo, we headed home and Abby took a nice long nap! It was a wonderful day.

Abby was VERY interested in the Gorilla right behind the glass!!

Abby with just some of the loot she scored at the zoo. The grandparents were very into spoiling her that day and she made out like a bandit!

I scream, you scream...

....we all scream for ice cream! Last week Sam and I took the kiddos to the park and then we went to Sonic for lunch. It was such a nice day out we couldn't resist buying some ice cream and letting the kids dig in....

Sam and Nolan...it looks like he is giving his Momma a kiss :)

Nolan: "Boy Abby that ice cream sure looks yummy!"

Abby: "It is yummy, here try some!"

Nolan: "Thanks for sharing but now I have my own spoon!"

Slumber Party!

On Friday night we watched Nolan overnight so Sam and Brain could have some time away. We owed them big time since they watched Abby overnight while we went to Pensacola for my birthday in January. The kids had a blast and Nolan was a very good boy! I will watch him ANYTIME!!! The kids played outside and Abby was even "pushing" Nolan on the swing. After that we came inside and ate dinner, then we gave the kids a bath. I must say, it does take longer to do everything when you have two kids. Both of them slept very well and we woke up and Andrew cooked everyone pancakes for breakfast...yum!! Abby really enjoyed her slumber party and we can't wait to have Nolan over again!

"Hey, follow me!"

"I'll push you Nolan!"

Chillin out before dinner with a little snack
