So, fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) Cheyna forgot to log out of the blog. Please understand that I, Gramma Susan, am making my first attempt at blogging and posting photos. I am also attempting this on a Mac (on which I have no experience, being from the other side) I also have to play catch up as today is Day 6of Abby's and my vacation.
Day 1: I unfortunately had to leave behind 14 plus inches of snow in WI to come to Florida (broke my heart). Cheyna and Abby picked me up at VPS and we went to Destin to have lunch and do some shopping. After Abby's nap and some playtime we had dinner at La Rumba. Abby loves Bean Dip Dip. Mommy and Gramma talked a lot about Abby's daily routine and who to call if we needed to. While we were gone, Bucky pulled Gramma's backpack off of the dining room table, dragged it into the living room, unzipped 2 zippers and ate the crackers and croissant that were in there. Smart dog!
Day 2: Thursday morning after breakfast Abby and Gramma played upstairs while Mommy finished packing her bags and put them in the car. After reading Abby a book, Mommy left for Orlando to meet up with Daddy and then Abby and Gramma could start their vacation
together :) After Mommy left, things got exciting weatherwise. There was a tornado warning (that Gramma found out about after it was over, they don't have warning sirens here), then a tornado watch. Thank you for the phone call, Sam! While Abby and Gramma were playing we had a very bad thunderstorm (Abby now calls thunder Boom Booms). We kept the weather channel on all evening so that we knew what was going on.
Day 3: Friday was bright and sunny. All of the bad weather was gone. Abby played outside on her swing and slide.
After a long nap, we drove down to Destin and had dinner with Gr Aunt Pat, Gr Uncle Curt and cousin Ben and his friend (F-16 pilots stationed in Germany) who were at Eglin this week. Abby and Gramma didn't get home until 8:30 (don't tell Mommy and Daddy).
Day 4: Today we played in the morning, then we took a rode trip. After lunch we drove to south of Mobile, AL to visit the Bellingrath Gardens. (It was Gr Uncle Curt's idea). Abby especially loved the fountains and smelling the flowers.
Gr Aunt Pat, Gramma Susan and Abby
We got home at 6:30, had a tubby and went to sleep (without a paci, don't tell Mommy).
Day 5: We played inside until it warmed up outside, then we went outside and played. After lunch and a nap (for Abby and Gramma) we went to shopping at Lowes and WalMart. It was purple day - purple clothes, purple bear, purple jammies and a NEW purple chair!!!
Day 6: Today Mommy and Daddy come home. We woke up very early (at 0dark 30), had breakfast, played, and took an early, but long nap.
After lunch we played some more and then we went to the grocery store. We we got home MOMMY AND DADDY WERE THERE!!!! We were so happy to see them. Gramma goes home tomorrow (sniff, sniff).
